Welcome to Farm Lane Nurseries
We are a small friendly family run firm, based in Ashtead in Surrey established in 1975.
We provide a wide and varied range of high quality plants, which we supplement with a unique range of antique items for use as planters and decoration for the garden. These we have sourced from all over the country and include fire buckets, wheels, bathtubs, tools, stone sinks, chimney pots and chicken feeders.
We also produce a good range of hanging baskets. These we plant up early in the spring and bring on in our glasshouses to ensure that you have a full and stunning basket in your garden.
This site can only give a small representation of our constantly changing, varied and interesting range of stock. We cannot grow everything but may be in a position to source any specific requirements you may have, just give us a call.
We hope you will enjoy the site, as much as we enjoy being able to supply you with something different for your garden.

Plants
We always carry an excellent range of our own grown hardy plants throughout the year.
We've previously recommended regular visits to the nursery and we can always show you pictures, but these never portray these plants at their very best.

Rose Arches
We stock a superb range, all metal, well made, and substantial. Not to be confused with the thin wire types available elsewhere. Will all grow climbers (not necessarily roses!).
Some are quite tall, so you are able to hang a basket from the centre.
Stoneware
A new venture for ourselves. We are pleased to offer a good competitively priced selection of stoneware. We've had a look around and as usual we can offer a good number of items that we haven't seen elsewhere!
Ornate
A range of terracotta/stone coloured planters and plaques. Locally made and of very unusual designs. All guaranteed frost proof (unlike normal pottery). Many different unusual designs.

Bygones
We have a huge selection of items from yesteryear. Many make wonderful planters and unusual items for the garden.
These include:
Galvanised Items, Chicken feeders, Soup Buckets, Tin Baths, Wheels, Chimney Crooks, Cook Pots, Grindstones, Old Tools, Sack Hoists, Chimney Pots, Stone Sinks and Bird Baths

Hanging Baskets
An increasingly popular service we offer for our customers, where you can bring your baskets/containers in to us by mid April. We plant and grow on, and you collect mid/end of May, when all danger of frost is over.
We start making up baskets early March. This enables us to plant round the sides of the basket, if you leave it too late to drop the basket into us, we can only 'top fill'.
We offer an extensive range of plants for sun or shade, some scented. We can discuss this with you at the time of ordering.
We incorporate a slow release feed and also Vinil, a control against vine weevil into all our composts.
For those of you who do not own baskets, we can make up to order, and we always have a good selection for sale during May.
If you wish to make up your own containers, we offer an extensive range of basket and patio plants.
Winter! We make up baskets for winter. We like these to be ordered by August/September. We use herbs, heathers, grasses, pansies, primulas, foliage shrubs, bulbs, ivy etc. Your winter needn't be drab!
All subjects can be planted in the garden in the summer, nothing is wasted!
